Captains Log:

11:37 PM

Starting tonight, and for the next several Friday's to come, I will be listing between five and ten paintings that have been created throughout the years on this site.

My intention with this is simple. Get these works of art into the world.

Give the people an opportunity to own your work.

The phrase, "Great art from a common man" kept coming to me as I thought this idea through which eventually led to the idea of listing these paintings of mine for a small amount in order to provoke new art lovers to buy in.

This isn't about making a fortune or maximizing profits.

For me, this is my way of giving back to all the people who have believed in me, invested in me, and supported me along the way.

To say the least, these are nothing but great works of art from a common man.

Enjoy!

Let it be. Is what I tell myself.

Leave me be. Is what I tell myself.

I want to learn.

I will learn to understand.

I will learn to understand more about this life.

I will learn to understand how Muhammad Ali floated like a butterfly and stung like a bee.

I will learn to understand how Michael Jackson moonwalked.

I will learn to understand what x equals.

I will learn to understand the periodic table.

I want to learn so that I can understand...

I want to understand how people drink their coffee with no cream or sugar.

I have so many more questions...

But, above all.

I want to understand where my brother took off to.

I can only hope he understands that I will be here until we meet again.

For my memories sake, and for your entertainment.

My co-worker nominated me for a "Best in Class" award at my job the other day.

She left a heartfelt message that I would like to share with you now.

"When Phillip arrives at work, I instantly know it's going to be a great day. I've seen him calm down the most irate guests with professionalism and ease that no one can do. I don't know what he does, but at the end of the conversation the guests are smiling and shaking his hand at the end."

Now, I make my point.

On the same day I received this message I had a guest with one or a few too many drinks aim for my neck.

What a day.

Today, I am put in charge of the stencil job.

Would I call that stenciling? Mmm no.

We project an image on to the wall and proceed to paint the photo being projected.

In order for all this to work all the lights must be off and the windows must be covered.

We work in the dark for probably ten minutes until my mentor tells me to hit the lights.

I hit the lights.

We can now see the painting.

You can still see the painting in the dark but its tricky.

We both inspect our work carefully.

Right as I look at her for approval she tells me,

"I'm gonna need to pencil these areas back in later."

She then gives me a smirk worth a million words and says,

"Cause yours looks better than mine."

Bingo.

I carried the team from that point forward.

Now, work is done. I am back home.

Another day in the books.
